Slide Imaging35mm Slides The graphics section of Media Services offer a 35mm computer generated slide service. We can generate slide presentations from your written/typed instructions. If you prefer to create slides on your own computer, or if you prefer to design your own presentations, these can be imaged direct from your disc onto film. This short guide is aimed at introducing the slide production services available and to help you to use them effectively. However, you are strongly advised to discuss your requirements with the staff in the graphics section before using the services, particularly if it is for the first time. Please telephone extension 2603 to discuss your requirements. High quality colour slides are produced from your instructions, and our staff will advise on the layout and presentation of your information. In addition to text, our staff can draw scientific figures, charts and tables from your original data, as well as design and draw diagrams, illustrations, logos, cartoons, etc. for inclusion in your slides. Please allow at least 5-10 working days for the production of artwork varies according to workload. Slides produced in other Mac applications not listed above can be imaged to film provided they are saved as Scrapbook, or PICT files. However, in this case our staff will not be able to make any corrections so you must ensure that your slides are correct before presenting them for imaging. Slides produced in any IBM Windows application not listed above can be imaged provided they are saved as .BLL files. This Windows driver is available on disc free of charge from the graphics staff and may be installed on your computer (see installing .BLL generator). or from the Lasergraphics website at www.lasergraphics.com Experience has shown that best results are achieved by using Microsoft Powerpoint for both Mac and PC users, and we are encouraging all users to standardise to this package.
