Chrysoula Dalageorgou

My research interest focuses on cardiac arrhythmias and genetic screening of samples with heart health problems. The main purpose of my work is to analyse the genetic make up of patients from across England and Wales, who have developed a potentially fatal condition after taking certain medications.

I am also a part time PhD student on Human Molecular Genetics, concentrating on a specific cardiac arrhythmia, called Long QT Syndrome (LQT). As part of my studies, I am screening patients with prolonged cardiac repolarisation and ventricular fibrillation, as well as conducting functional analysis and cell signalling work, to characterise unknown mutations in cardiac ion channel genes related to LQT.
