Accessibility

Services for members with disabilities

Access

The Library has wheelchair access. The access gate can be operated by using your swipe card once it has been registered in our system.

Orientation Tours

Staff can provide one-to-one orientation tours of the Library facilities. Please contact Sue David or your Liaison Librarian to arrange a time.

Using e-resources and IT

One-to-one training in the use of Library resources can be provided. Please ask at the Enquiry desk (10am - 5pm) tel: 5533 or see the relevant Liaison Librarian.

Fetching

Library staff can retrieve items from the shelves for you. Please ask the Enquiry desk person in the first instance or Circulation desk staff.

Loans

One week loan items can be issued for 2 weeks, 3 week loans can be issued for 6 weeks in the first instance. Fines on overdue items still apply.

Photocopying and printing

If you need to reclaim photocopying costs staff can issue a receipt for any copy cards purchased. Library staff can also demonstrate how to use photocopiers and scanners to enlarge text.

Computing facilities

The Computer Rooms Co-ordinator can assist with chair positions, screen displays, and font size for PCs in the Computer rooms.

Assistive technologies

The Library has a PC with Zoomtext, Inspiration mind mapping software, Texthelp Read and Write, scanner, large print keyboard and wrist rests. Instruction manuals are available for using these technologies. Library staff can only offer minimal support.
