Computing facilities

• The Library has three Computer rooms which between them hold over 100 open access PCs. Computer room 3 (CR3)  is open when the Library is open. Computer rooms 1 and 2 (CR1 and CR2) are open 24 hours a day - access is through your ID card as long as you are a current member of the Library.

All open access PCs have writeable CD RW drives, diskette and 750 MB zip drives. They also support USB flash memory devices, leaflets on accessing USB devices are available at the Helpdesk.

The following Software can be found on all machines:

• Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• SPSS version 12 
• Internet access using Internet Explorer.

The following Software can be found in CR1 only:

• Dreamweaver MX 2004 (web development software)
• Photoshop Elements 2 (image-editing software)

The following Software can be found on one PC in CR2 on the right as you go in from CR3:

• Microsoft Publisher 2003
• Reference Manager 11

The following Software can be found on the Colour Printer PC in CR3:

• Publisher 2003 

Black and white printing is available in each Computer room. Colour printing is available in CR3 only. Printing is charged at 5p per A4 sheet for black and white and 50p per A4 sheet for colour. You will need a Photocopy card to print (costs £2, available from a dispenser outside the Library Photocopying room).

Wireless connectivity, via the Janet Roaming Service, is available in the Library - at the back of the Study area next to the Current Journals; look for the eduroam logo.
