Reference Checking for Secretaries

This session will show you techniques for locating material when you have an incomplete reference.

At the end of this one hour session you will be able to:

• identify an appropriate database for checking references
• use PubMed to check references
• search specific fields in a range of databases (such as PsycINFO, Cinahl or Medline)

Prerequisites for this course:

• confidence in using a mouse
• some familiarity with searching databases such as Medline.
