European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)This is available for staff and students of St George's, University of London and the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences. St George's, University of London is an accredited Test Centre for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). The ECDL is recognised in Europe and has become a worldwide qualification for those who wish to demonstrate their competence in computer skills. The ECDL is designed to cover the key concepts of computing. It is divided into seven modules, which can be taken in any order, and at your own pace. The seven modules are:
The full syllabus is available at: Unit E - Using IT Unit E requires the candidate to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a series of theoretical elements such as legal issues associated with computing, health and safety and good practice. Additionally the candidate will be required to demonstrate their understanding of integration between computer applications and the relevance of each to everyday tasks. This unit is assessed using a multiple-choice test in a similar way to Module 1. Please note that the pass rate for Unit E is 80%.
