Social & Community PsychiatrySocial and Community Psychiatry includes two themes:
Work on the Care of People with Serious Mental Illness includes research into the delivery and organisation of services for people particularly excluded by their complex needs, focusing on innovative clinical interventions, assessment tools and models of service delivery.This research has an emphasis on patient and service user experience. Research into Mental Health and Trauma focuses on the mental health of vulnerable people, in particular developing understanding of the interactions between women’s mental health, social roles and experiences of abuse and trauma, and the intergenerational impact of traumatic experience on children. Total grant income for the Social and Community Psychiatry group since 2001 has been in excess of £4.5M. |
