Periodic Programme Review
SGUL reviews each of its programmes from time to time to ensure that they are up-to-date, meet the needs of students and are adequately resourced.The periodic programme review process is described in detail in SGUL’s Quality Manual. The key characteristics of the process are as follows:
-
A programme will be reviewed at least once in any five year period;
-
The review is carried out by an independent panel of academic and professional peers, at least one of whom will be external to SGUL;
-
Reviewers draw on all available evidence (including written student feedback, examiners’ reports, examination results) as part of a review. The reviewers also meet current students;
-
The review panel can identify areas which improvements to the programme might be made and can specify action points in relation to these areas. The teaching team is required to respond constructively to these action points;
-
A written report of each review is prepared and published.
Reports for reviews carried out since January 2007 can be accessed by clicking on the relevant link in the right hand column. Pre-2007 reports are available on request.
